Eylül YAKAR graduated from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in 2022. In the same year, she started her thesis-based master’s program in the Department of Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine at Hacettepe University and completed her thesis in January 2025, titled "Synthesis of Black Titanium Dioxide Nanostructures by Electrochemical Methods and Evaluation of Their Antibacterial Properties". She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in the same department.

During her undergraduate studies, she participated in cancer research involving nanomaterials and was involved in cell culture applications. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the investigation of brain networks during mental arithmetic tasks.

Throughout her master’s education, she took part in several projects focused on nanomaterials. She synthesized specialized metal oxide nanoparticles for diagnostic systems and produced titanium dioxide nanorods and nanowires via hydrothermal methods for water filtration applications. As part of the TÜBİTAK 1004 project, she contributed to the characterization of osseointegration by fabricating nanostructures on titanium alloy surfaces through anodization. Her thesis work was supported by a university-funded scientific research project (BAP), within which titanium dioxide nanotubes were fabricated via anodic oxidation, converted to black titanium dioxide through cathodic polarization, and their photocatalytic and antibacterial properties were investigated.
