Pioneering NanoLIBS Technology for Spectroscopic Analysis of Alloys

Prof. Dr. Arif Demir’s Research Excellence in Laser-Induced Spectroscopy

Prof. Dr. Arif Demir leads groundbreaking research in the field of laser-based spectroscopy, focusing on the development and application of a novel NanoLIBS system (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy at the nanoscale). His work has enabled rapid, precise, and non-destructive spectroscopic analysis of metal alloys, providing critical insight into their elemental composition.

The NanoLIBS system, developed under the prestigious EUROSTARS Program of the European Union, integrates nanotechnology with advanced laser diagnostics, setting new standards for real-time material characterization. This compact and portable system is designed for industrial and research environments where speed and accuracy are paramount.

By combining expertise in laser-matter interaction, plasma physics, and spectroscopic data analysis, Prof. Demir’s team is advancing the frontier of next-generation material diagnostics, especially for high-value alloys used in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
