Department of Nanotechnology Engineering
The Department of Nanotechnology Engineering at OSTİM Technical University was established to foster innovative advancements in materials technology and nanotechnology, conduct industry-oriented cutting-edge research, and educate the engineers of the future. Our interdisciplinary curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing students to make meaningful contributions directly within the industry.
Our program focuses on areas such as nanoscale material design, advanced manufacturing techniques, surface engineering, laser technologies, spectroscopic analysis methods, energy storage materials, biomaterials, and functional materials. Students actively participate in research projects involving the synthesis, characterization, and application of nanomaterials, expanding the frontiers of materials science.
Thanks to strong partnerships with OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, industry collaborators, research institutions, and international academic centers, our department offers a distinctive education model integrated with real industrial experience. This allows students to engage in industry-supported R&D projects that promote innovation, optimize production processes, and accelerate technological progress.
In addition, our project development office at Günhan Aluminum provides students with invaluable hands-on experience by involving them directly in industrial R&D projects. This initiative also offers opportunities to participate in TÜBİTAK and other funded projects, enhancing their research and innovation capabilities.
Our advanced laboratory infrastructure is further strengthened through a strategic collaboration with the National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) at Bilkent University. This partnership grants students access to world-class facilities where they learn cutting-edge fabrication and analysis techniques, equipping them to compete on a global scale.
The department covers a broad spectrum of applications, including defense, automotive, aerospace, energy, biomaterials, electronics, and healthcare technologies.
